Spanish activity to talk about the weather and climate
This A2 level activity is useful for talking about the climate and weather in the past tense in Spanish.
Firstly, we will introduce some phrases in the present tense to talk about the weather, which have to be matched with their corresponding picture. The phrases which we have chosen to talk about the climate for A2 level are: está despejado, hace viento, hace frío, hace sol, está nublado, hace calor, está lloviendo, está nevando, está granizando, hay niebla y hay tormenta.
The objective of the second activity is to practice talking about the weather, and s the students are capable to talk about it in the past tense. For this, we have created examples with cities in which we have integrated temporal markers of the past. For example, ‘ayer, en Quito, hizo sol”. In this way, we will be able to express ourselves when talking about the past.
In the final exercise to talk about the weather, we will introduce some examples with options about different types of weather in the past, and the students have to choose the correct option and justify why they have chosen it.
