ELE crossword activity to learn the Spanish speaking countries and their capitals

This ELE activity consists of a crossword to learn the countries that speak Spanish.

We have created this activity in the form of a crossword so that students in our ELE class can discover the 20 countries that speak Spanish, which are as follows Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Equatorial Guinea, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Spain, Uruguay and Venezuela. To clarify, we have not included Costa Rica because it is not a sovereign nation.

Once the students have discovered the different countries that speak Spanish in this crossword, we will present a second Spanish activity in which they have to find which flag corresponds to which country and find the name of the capital of each Spanish speaking country.

The capitals of the different Spanish speaking countries that they have to write in this activity are: Buenos Aires, Sucre, Santiago, Bogotá, San José, La Habana, Santo Domingo, Quito, San Salvador, Malabo, Ciudad de Guatemala, Tegucigalpa, Ciudad de México, Managua, Ciudad de Panamá, Asunción, Lima, Madrid, Montevideo y Caracas.

The aim of this ELE activity is that students get to know the names of the Spanish-speaking countries and theri capitals through a crossword.
