Reduplicative structures ELE activity with the subjunctive

This activity takes the form of a table to practice with reduplicative structures in either the present or past subjunctive.

We present two blocks of elements, in the first, we only present typical elements that can be found in these reduplicative structures: por ejemplo, lo que, donde, como, o no, o quien.

In the second block, we set out some relevant historical figures from the Hispanic world, such as: Yalitza Aparicio, Alfonso Cuarón, Maluma, Rigoberta Menchú and Maradona.

Some of the students may not know of some of these historical figures, so we will give their profession as a clue.

The aim is that, starting from one element from the first block and one figure from the second block, the students construct a phrase that contains a reduplicative structure with the subjunctive in either the past or present tense.

In order to carry out this activity successfully, it is important that the students have enough imagination to create phrases with the figures even if they don’t know who they are by keeping their profession in mind.
