ELE past tense contrast activity with text

This ELE activity consists of a text about a pre-hispanic legend to be completed with different form of past tense.

In this ELE exercise we present a legend whose protagonists are two pre-hispanic characters: Popocatépetl e Iztaccíhuatl. We have left out all the verbs in this activity and give the students only the infinitives in the incorrect order.

The objective of the activity is that the students complete the different gaps in the text with the given infinitives conjugated in the correct form of the past tense, which can be the preterite, the imperfect or the pluperfect.

In order to encourage oral expression realted with the contrast of past tenses, we propose a second ELE activity in which the students have to think of another legend featuring two main characters that are in love.
