Activity on ‘como si’ with the imperfect subjunctive at B2 level

This activity for Spanish class is an exercise to practice ‘como si’ with the imperfect subjunctive for ELE students at B2 level.

We have one column of jumbled proverbs and another with attitudes that we will use to practice with using ‘como si’ with the subjunctive.

This game can be played in either teams or pairs.

Before being able to construct a proverb with ‘como si + the imperfect subjunctive’, the students will have to match the first part of the phrase with its corresponding follow-up.

Once the phrase is correct, we choose an attitude and challenge the opposing pair or team, for example, ‘read the saying as if you were a rapper’, that way we need to use ‘como si’ with the imperfect subjunctive/b>.

Among the sayings in this ELE activity , you will find these: ‘Ojos que no ven, corazón que no siente’, ‘Perro ladrador, poco mordedor’, ‘Cuando marzo mayea, mayo marcea’, ‘Mejor solo, que mal acompañado’, and ‘Quien fue a Sevilla, perdió su silla’.

The goal of this activity is that Spanish B2 level students read these proverbs and adopt certain attitudes so that they can form their own proverbs with ‘como si’, such as: como si tuvieran miedo, como si fueran bebés, como si estuvieran resfriados or como si cantaran flamenco .
