Spanish activities to practice giving directions in A1 classes

This sequence of activities consists of three exercises to work with the vocabulary needed to give directions, for A1 Spanish beginners.

In the first Spanish activity, students have to match a series of words relating with instructions that you’d need to use in order to give directions, with their corresponding pictures. The words or phrases are: girar o torcer a la derecha o a la izquierda, seguir o continuar todo recto, semáforo, paso de cebra o rotonda.

In the second activity to practice vocabulary for giving directions, we have created a map with two points marked on it. The aim for the A1 Spanish students is to make up a short dialogue, using the previously provided vocabulary, get from one point on the map to the other.

In the final Spanish directions activity, we have chosen some abbreviations used in vocabulary for structuring a city. These common abbreviations are: calle, avenida, número, derecha, barrio, código postal, izquierda, plaza, paseo and sin número..
