Activity about the past imperfect at A2 level
This A2 level activity helps to practice the past tense in contrast to the present tense.
We have created a series of cards with pictures and temporal markers ´before´ and ´after´ so that the students can make comparisons with these markers through the past tense and present tense.
We can cut up the cards for this game and share them between the students in teams. One team has the cards ´before´, using the past tense and the other team has the cards ´now´ using the present tense.
When a student begins a sentence with ´before´ and a picture, the opposing team should be attentive to continue the phrase with ´now´ and the corresponding picture.
The objective of this exercise about the past tense is that the students know the difference between the use of the present and imperfect tense for habitual actions in the present and the past.
