En la recepción – At the reception

Una habitación con cama de matrimonio – Double-bedded room
Una habitación con camas gemelas – Twin-bedded room
Una habitación con baño – En-suite room
Pensión completa – Full-board
Media pensión – Half-board
Primera/segunda/tercera planta – First/second/third floor

A hotel room is typically much more than just a bed (although the bed might be the most essential part!). Use the following vocabulary to identify what you have, or to request it if it’s not there… oops!

Las sábanas – Bedsheets
Las mantas – Blankets
Una toalla – Towel
Un albornoz – Bathrobe
Las zapatillas (de casa) – Slippers
El secador de pelo – Hairdryer
El lavabo – Sink/washbasin
La ventana – Window
Aire acondicionado – Air conditioning
No molestar – Do not disturb

You can enjoy your hotel stay to the full by making the most of the facilities it has on offer – so make sure you know what they are called!

 

El ascensor – Elevator/lift
Las escaleras – Stairs
El bar – Bar
El restaurante – Restaurant
El comedor – Dining room
El salón – Lounge
La piscina – Swimming pool
La terraza – Terrace
El servicio de habitaciones – Room service
El estacionamiento/aparcamiento – Parking

¿Quedan habitaciones libres? – Are there any rooms available?
Tengo reservada una habitación para esta noche – I have a reservation for tonight
¿Dónde puedo dejar mis maletas? – Where can I leave my luggage?
¿Dónde puedo aparcar el coche? – Where can I park my car?
¿Está incluido el desayuno? – Is breakfast included?
¿A qué hora abre/cierra el restaurante? – What time does the restaurant open/close?
Me marcharé mañana por la mañana/tarde – I’ll be leaving tomorrow morning/afternoon
(La televisión) no funciona – (The television) is not working
