AIL Malaga is certified as a Socially Responsible ELE School

Hello! How are you all? I’m having a great start to the week already. After arriving back from a wonderful weekend where I enjoyed the beaches of Málaga and perfected my gazpacho recipe, I was excited to see a new email notification from FEDELE: we had received the certification as a Socially Responsible ELE School. This news has filled us with pride at AIL Málaga as we follow in the footsteps of our sister school AIL Madrid, who also received this certification just a few months ago. Malaga’s excellent weather, its friendly people, and the incredible food make our school a place that receives many students every year. Students come to this fantastic city to take an intensive Spanish course. From the moment we founded our school, we wanted to dedicate ourselves to teaching our students not only linguistic skills but to encourage our ethical and social learning as well. As a Spanish school, we enjoy collaborating with lots of different social initiatives. Above all else, we believe we can help eliminate language barriers and encourage social integration for migrants new to Spain.

With this in mind, we’ve collaborated with the NGO ACCEM, who has a very interesting program in helping eliminate the risk of social exclusion for migrants in Malaga. They also prepare various workshops about social awareness in schools and business to educate the community on respect and tolerance overall.

With this alliance and our idea of being more socially responsible, we designed a Code of Ethics with details for all of the members of our school (administration, students, and clients). After putting all of the ideas out on the table, we put all hands in on creating our Code of Ethics at AIL Malaga, knowing that this would be beneficial for all members of the school.

In this plan, various ethics are marked off to promote qualities of non-discrimination and equality in the workplace. Gender equality between both men and women is guaranteed and as such, we have designed an equality plan that focuses on the creation of a sexual harassment protocol to ensure the safety of everyone in the company.

reciclage malagaIn addition to our commitment to social awareness and responsibility, we also highlight our commitment to sustainable development via the protection of the environment. Among these policies, we raise important to energy efficiency and recycling.

To continue supporting and engaging the community these recent initiatives, we have even created a new mailing campaign. All coordination staff and professors are being reminded to turn off lights, computers, and air conditioning in our centers when they are not in use. Even more, we ask them to only make copies or use the printer when absolutely necessary.

As you can see, we all have a chance to pitch in and care for our planet. Are you ready to join our initiative? It’s very simple, you just have to track where your waste goes and on this page you can find all of the information.

I’ve already decided clearly that I will start recycling. Join our proposal and help be part of the change!

Until next time!
