Although the Carnival started as a one-time event, it has become a tourist attraction and is one of the most significant Carnivals in Europe. It’s a fantastic idea because the Stockholm Carnival is a little piece of the Caribbean in our cold city and I love that.
This week, on the occasion of Carnival I have been talking a lot with my two best friends. I’ve already told you about them in previous blogs and I’m sure you remember Freia and Ellie. They are the ones to blame for the fact that I have not had time to hand in my homework for the intensive Spanish course in Malaga that I am doing.
The truth is that I didn’t have time to do my homework. My friends were so excited to choose their Carnival costumes that they had me doing Facetime every afternoon to help them decide on the perfect costume.
I haven’t chosen a costume yet, but what I can tell you is that this is the first Carnival I’m going to spend away from home and my friends and I have a great plan. I’ll tell you about it in case you want to get some ideas.
As you know, it has been almost 4 months since I came to study Spanish in Malaga and I can tell you about the personality of the Spanish people. They are super fun and organize the best parties. That’s why I can’t wait to experience my first Carnival in Andalusia.
I totally trust his criteria. He always suggests the best plans and he is my particular guide of Andalusia. This afternoon without fail we are going to take the bus tickets to go to Cadiz. The trip takes about 2 hours and a half and the idea is to leave on Friday at noon after my Spanish course and make the most of the Carnival in Cadiz until Sunday afternoon.
Maca and I have been looking at costumes as a couple and I am going to share with you some of our ideas: Wonder Woman and Cat Woman, ABBA band members or Hippies. I know they are very typical, but we don’t have much time to prepare our outfit. Which one would you choose?
In the next blog I will tell you about my experience in the most famous Carnivals in Spain.
¡Hasta la próxima!
